A new school year is upon us and we're sharing two of our absolute favorite books — both are rich in diversity and full of heart. School's First Day of School is a gentle, sincere and funny story that shows children that first-day nerves are totally natural, and thankfully, they don't stick around forever. Sally McCabe of The Smallest Girl in the Smallest Grade might be just as the title implies, but what she lacks in size, she makes up in an enormous amount of courage, compassion and nerve. What a beautiful lesson to learn and a meaningful ongoing conversation to have throughout the school year.
Join us on our journey as we share books that reflect the diversity and the unique cultures that make up our nation and world.
